PC: Charon

Actually, this isn't technically a Greek mythology name... Charon comes from the Fallout 3 Ghoul follower. 😜

I used to play a lot of Overwatch and I built my PC with achieving max framerate in mind. Overwatch can run on a potato, so my machine is not the most cutting edge.

• Corsair 780T full size tower. Black with five red LED fans. If I sit on the ground next to my case it is almost as tall as me. I like it.
• AMD Ryzen 5 3600X CPU
• Gigabyte B450M Micro ATX motherboard
• 32GB mismatched brand RAM:
  • G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8 GB graphics card

  • Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer: Not hooked up; I ran out of SATA slots and I can’t remember the last time a CD drive actually mattered anyway. Removal would involve finding the front panel for my case or buying a replacement.

• Sennheiser 450BT Bluetooth over-ear headphones (often goes with my phone)
• PC chair is a DX Racer I got for $50 shipping from a Monster gear promotion. I hate my back.

Work Macbook: Sisyphus

Apple M2 Pro chip.

• Two external monitors, Acer 24'' GN246HL 1920 x 1080 & AOC 24'' AGON AG241QX 2560x1440. While they are both 144hz and recycled from older gaming builds, they only run at 60hz on the MBP. The AGON has some pretty severe burn-in issues toward the bottom of the screen.
• Haworth Fern I got for half of new price at a secondhand warehouse locally.
• macOS New Model M with buckling springs. 10/10 keyboard, would clickety-clackety again.
• Logitech M510
• Way too many extenders and adapters.

Other Stuff

• Personal 2019 Intel Macbook, no name (thank you, Matt!). This is my main personal "serious" dev machine.
• Tertiary 2019 Intel Macbook, no name. Bought cheaply from work after I got the M2. It kinda just sits, haven't figured out what to do with it yet.
• Samsung Galaxy S22+
• Galaxy Buds Pro, first generation
• Galaxy Watch4, mostly used to track my sleep and stress (one is lower than it should be, one is higher than it should be)
• Several much older random machines that are collecting dust and awaiting a use:
  • ThinkPad T510 (used to dban old hard drives along with an external enclosure).
  • Lenovo IdeaPad S340, mostly sits, but is a backup Windows laptop where needed.
  • A Best Buy PC my dad bought and decided to junk a year later.
  • A Raspberry Pi 3 -- tried to run a PiHole, but it died somehow.
  • A couple more random computers, for sure.
• Car is a 2016 Honda Fit LX. Named Ares -- driving in New Jersey is often an act of war. It rocks a frontal Street Guardian dashcam of unknown model, purchased 2019.
